Electronic Cigarettes Banned On Planes?
ByIt appears that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has proposed a federal rule to ban smokeless cigarettes on all domestic and international flights in the USA.
Currently, the federal tobacco ban doesn’t apply to e-cigs.
The main reason for the concern of using an electronic cigarette on a flight? Because of the “confusion” it would pose to other passengers and crew. WTF, really?
Obviously, this has created a lot of outrage in the electronic cigarette community. Many e-cig users have given up smoking, and if this new ban were to go into effect, then they would have to use their e-cigs in designated smoking areas at airports…exposing them to the proven harmful effects of traditional tobacco cigarettes.
So this news isn’t that great for e-smokers. However, the rule hasn’t been adopted yet and the public has until November 14th to submit comments on the proposed ban.
